Computational modeling of spatial variation in moisture content and temperature distribution in corn at different superheated steam temperatures

The Superheated steam has been shown to be more effective than hot air for drying corn. Modeling studies have carried out in fluidized bed dryers determine the moisture and heat transfer characteristics of corn, but there are no modeling a single corn kernel. Knowledge mass kernel would produce better understanding needed specific rates. study sought influence temperature velocity on rate It used computational fluid dynamics (CFD) model between superheated steam. simulation cone geometry represent had characteristic dimensions 20% initial content. condition steam, which was typical that found industry, temperatures 120–200°C velocities 0.5–1.5 m/s.
